Age Difference Makes a Difference

Ha! You might think, "Oh, this blogger is sucked in to the TB world of Vampires and hotties" or whatever they call it these days, but clearly, if you didn't read the title of this post, you're in the wrong train of thought, sistah!

In my opinion, with Ian and Nina's current relationship, age makes a big difference.
First of all, let me just clear things up. All I've heard for the moment are rumours and even some gossip, about Nina and Ian's current relationship status. None came out from their own mouths, as far as I know, but the tell-tale signs are strong enough to leave me biased.

They are clearly in a relationship.

Since that's settled, let me continue to my main topic.

Nina Dobreva, popularly known as Nina Dobrev is a young and beautiful, 22 year old Bulgarian-born actress with a knack for acting and fashion. Ian Somerhalder, popularly known as Ian Somerhalder, is a not so young 32 year old American-born actor with a knack for acting and one of those rare cases who could pull off a side-smile ridiculously well.

Both came from a humble background in acting. Nina wasn't your typical Drew Barrymore who was popular ever since she was a little girl until now or Ian as Macualay Culkin, who's not doing so well after his stint with the world of drugs and alcohol. So children, don't go near those things! They had humble beginnings in the faded backgrounds of the acting world before both stepped into their famous roles as Katherine/Elena for Nina and Damon for Ian in the popular CW show, The Vampire Diaries.

Since their status boost after being casted in the well-written show which is now popular all over the world, it was no question for people to have the natural curiosity to ask the infamous question if either of them would date their co-stars, ahem, with each other. Nina of course said no and even backed it up (paraphrased, of course) that it might just be a little too weird to date your co-stars since if the relationship goes kaboom, the getting along with each other part would be a total nuclear explosion.

Clearly, she didn't stay true to her words after she's been snapped side by side with Mr. Somerhalder recently. I personally think that age makes a big difference in their relationship, whether it be legit or not. A guy matures longer than girls so for Mr. Somerhalder to be 32, I think it's leaning more int to the safe side.

I believe Ian's had his fun but you know, there's some late bloomers now and then but my fingers are crossed that his loving looks to his co-star are true. Nina's a beautiful girl who deserves someone to take care of her. You can see it in her eyes and with her smile.

Love, love.

Conversation Starters

Apart from the over-used, over-awkward "How are you?" which is synonymous for "Hi" or "Hello", Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black, Swag and YOU DON'T HAVE FACEBOOK?! are basically the only convo starters these days in the Teenage World.

Gotta love it, gotta hate it, or be in the middle. You know, like an awkward... turtle.

So "Why is a Raven Like a Writing Desk?"

I've pondered so much about this question and tried asking my best friend Google for an answer but didn't search hard enough, didn't find the answer and left it be since the time I watched Alice in Wonderland.

The answer came from someone who needs to be both credited and unnamed.
"Because it can produce a few notes, though they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front."
In the original preface, "never" was spelled "nevar" which is "raven" backwards. According to the source, the answer was also intended as a pun, itself.

I get it...but I still don't get it.

Mark of the Lion Trilogy: A Voice in the Wind

This book is beyond beautiful. There are no words to describe its sentimental value to me after reading it, page by page; continually grasping my imagination, taking me in to the world of Ancient Rome.

I, for one, have not read a book that had such a strong grip on my heart in which what a Latin learner may say as lacrimas, fell from the corner of my eyes.
This book had the handsome, aristocratic Marcus Lucianus Valerian and the not-the-kind-of-beautiful-the-world-sees girl of Hadassah. What a beautiful name, Hadassah. It spoke of innocence, purity and love; and she was all that.
The cliche of them falling in love may sound too much of a bore and a storyline, too overused for one’s liking, but the beauty of this storyline is that, it’s complemented by the beautifully described setting of Rome and Jerusalem along with the sub-plot of gladiator Atretes and his fight, literally, at the arena for his freedom.

Francine Rivers captured the essence of Ancient Rome ridiculously well; the hedonism, the lifestyle, the way they spoke. All the elements blended with each other like the colours of an abstract painting. Marcus and Hadassah’s love story wasn’t your typical Titanic, where the world revolved around them. In this book, the minor characters came alive, like Julia Valerian, whose unmatched selfishness resulted in a tragedy that will continually haunt me until now.
It’s without a doubt a mind-blowing experience, reading this work of Francine Rivers. This book took me to a place I could only imagine, but it also gave me a chance to yearn for something so much I felt compelled to beg.

It’s sequel, An Echo in the Darkness. But I’ll tell you about that another time. This book, deserves it’s own post… and more.

Highly Recommended Book. 5/5 stars
