Who's that girl? It's Pess!

I watched as my dream slowly faded to the deep, dark depths of my memory. With a leg in front, the other leg at the back, positioned like a ballerina, ready to fly in the arms of male ballerina, I glided to catch hold of the unravelling cotton of my dream tunic.

So.Many.Fallacies.
First of all, I don't have a dream tunic. Ew. Do I sound like I live in a time of gladiators, men in dresses and reclining Caesar's eating grapes?

It's DREAM SLEIGH, you little ant.

Well, my dream sleigh's off to a rather promising start...friends-ly anyway. I talked to my closest friends about my dream, this particular dream that I shall elaborate in the coming future. I've got them excited for it and I am more than blessed that they share the same excitement as well.
Big-wide eyes, straight-up screaming, "You should!", lotsa encouragements and sharing of ideas... fanstasticals, I tells ya, though I didn't really say that particular 'F' word since in human speech, sounds rather derogatory and...green.

I've got this little problem though, her name's Pess. Short for Pessica.

Well, Pessica has a long lost cousin, twice removed from mother's side who was adopted by grandfather-in-law whose cousin is great aunt Joelina from the Garden of Eden. They named it Pessimism. I believe he's an adjective.

Well, Pessi, not Pess, hasn't got to me yet. I think Faith the Reindeer's doing a real good job with pulling the sleigh. Everything sounds good, the encouragements are much appreciated and the jam donut that burnt thy tongue really kills!

Before you stay frequented, the dream is about something real BIG, so BIG, it can be a movie ;)

Stay absolutely frequented,

The Dream Room

Once there was a girl who feared a big future,
Worry and despair; like that model's hideous couture.
Where shall I go, she asks, wondering which way,
If one Peeta Mellark could only bake optimistic...

...I'm not even going to go there. Sure, poetry's a cinch, how hard could it be?
As hard as a concrete slab weighing 50 tonnes that could bring a whole building down.
Biscuit?

The Dream Room. I think that sounds like a catch. More than Bruce in a net, fighting to save his fishy friends.
I've decided to make a change. I've decided to relay upon these pages the future of my future. The Tomorrow to the Day After, the Games to the Hunger. And they all start with the biggest, 'baddest' first letter out... F.

FAITH.

Faith comes in different, shapes, sizes, forms, colours, angles, bindings, genres...and the endless possibilities that can cause an epidemic.
The Dream Room.
I have no passion for blood. I have no passion for water, either. So I guess that rules out becoming a doctor and a fish.

Well, I'm 17, aren't I? People say I've got a lot ahead of me and as a matter of fact, I do. High-school's not even done for moi yet and I can't still drive my own car, but for sure do I know that I can definitely drive my dream sleigh. Huge, hulking figure, driven by Melody R. Luminescent. Jokes...driven by my reindeer called Faith. Not my close-relative, of course but the big ol' F word.

To Dream...now that's a cinch. You can do it at school while Mr or Mrs. So-and-so decides to converse with another student that absolutely doesn't concern you and your education at all. You can do it while you're on the car, staring at the wisps of colours whenever the cars pass by, or even while you're getting a little too comfortable in the toilet, for all I know.
Cinch.
To make it happen... now that's a completely different story.
Ever heard the story of that little ant trying to become a human?
Me neither.
Well, that little ant's dreams may be a little too exaggerated - and excuse me if ever an ant rights spokesperson is reading this - but we all know that an ant is merely an animal, if it's even classified as such.

You and me, we're human beings. Living, breathing, eating the whole word upside down. Numerous, countless possibilities and opportunities to grab a hold on and for sure I'm not about to let it go.

The Dream Room.
The full-story when I'm up before my bed-time.

Stay frequented,
Ceecee

In a galaxy far, far away...

What? Has it already been that long?! Sorry y'all, I guess these holidays have been busier than planned.

So to start amending for my long absence, I shall first say a big 'THANK YOU' to a dear friend and co-blogger,  The Book Blogger for being a lolly and giving me a Blog Award (I still don't understand how you get one)!

She gave me, not one, but TWO awards and I am more than happy to do them and give one back to her because well, she deserves it. I mean it. Go check her out: Inside and In Between.

Alright, without further ado, let me bore with you all with 7 random/freaky facts about moi:

  • Numero Uno: I can speak a fluent language apart from English. What is it? Have a guess ... ;)
  • Numbuh 2: I eat my chicken in a certain way that no one else does. Usually when people grab a nice leg of chicken, they'd bite into it straight away even with a chicken thigh, but I have a pattern as to how I eat mine and if it creeps my whole family, then it'll certainly creep you out. Oh well, I think it's fun! Besides, my day gets ruined if I don't follow the pattern.
  • Trois: I love learning Latin. To some people it's a chore to learn those grammatical forms and whatnots that knot your head around, but I find it not only fascinating but somewhat enjoyable too.
  • Apat: I hate bugs...absolutely hate them. All of them... okay, maybe except for one: the bug that when you touch, curls up into a spiral thing. No idea what they're called.
  • Quinque: I tap incessantly. People say it's the drummers that always seem to tap. Well, I play drums, but not legit, just for fun.
  • Six: People say I have a good voice but I don't think I do. I think it's soft and just not good.
  • Qi: Sometimes I read books out loud in different accents with different personalities. Once, I read a whole long chapter alternating accents and personalities from Indian, British, Texan American, normal American, fob, gothic, shy-type, murmurer, thick bogan, normal Aussie accent... 'twas F.U.N
  • Last and definitely least: I can sing like an opera singer. I may not be your average singer, but I can definitely make my voice sing opera.
I guess that is all I have to say about myself, boring I know. But they're all facts, straight from the heart and legitimately true.

And the novel writing begins...

It's always been a hard thing for me to begin writing a novel. Ever since I was a little girl, I've been so crazy with books and stories and the endless depths my imagination took me, and even though I was still a little illiterate back then and not as good in my vocabulary and sentence structure unlike now (even though I'm not really that good anyway,) I still found the means to write a 'Once upon a time' and a 'The End'  no matter how lame the storyline was.

Things changed though and soon the world around me evolved and my perfectionist self came to play, hindering me from really finishing writing a complete story, beginning till the end, that has utterly satisfied me. I complain about where I would write, the perfect pen, the constant writer's block. Every obstacle a writer-to-be or even a professional writer goes through when writing their first novel or even the first sentence of their first novel was such a huge barrier for me. It was something I could never cross. Until now.

For quite some time I've tried to find an inspiration to begin my first novel. I've told my friends that I've always had the desire to write a book and to feel the satisfaction of writing a The End. Endless incomplete stories make up a lot of space in my USB. Most have been untouched for what seemed like decades, even though I've only survived one, and every time I manage to get the time to read over them, I feel this sudden emptiness and dissatisfaction knowing that I have not completed something that should well have been completed.

It bothers me...to no end. But this time, this time it's different.

I don't know exactly where it happened but I know exactly how. It was during the New Years holiday I've spent away from the hometown where I was in a completely different place with completely different settings, locations and surroundings where the inspiration came in a fast-paced, Speedy Gonzales style with the entrance of Pepe Le Pew. Fast yet suave. From God's imagination to mine.

Bombs of the Holocaust
My new story slash novel will revolve around the enigmatic yet riveting events of the years of hardship and trials of the Jews under the hand of Hitler...The Holocaust. A huge fan of the events of the Holocaust and of the second World War, I knew that it was through my love for such and of my fondness of a good romance, action, mystery and drama story, that I have hit the jackpot. I was excited to start but I didn't know where to begin! Ideas after ideas came and soon I had to really sit myself down and collect my thoughts and file them in the right cabinets before I speedily give up again as speedily as I got the idea... and that of course, was not something I looked forward to.

And so I filed my ideas with excitement and also with complete seriousness and focus, which often earned me many questions of  "Are you okay?" or "What are you thinking about?" from my fellow classmates and friends whenever they caught me in the 'zone.' It was hard to explain my thoughts to them because they came so fast that my brain couldn't comprehend it, let alone be able to translate it through word of mouth! So I've kept my mouth shut, said a reasonable reply of "Nothing" and continued the filing until the time is right to finally speak out.

Two protagonists. A hero and a heroine. In the backdrop of the Holocaust in Italy.
I'm not a fan of anything cliche so while I'm currently in my 'Research mode' I'm also focusing on perfecting a storyline whose ending will not be guessed; a trait I've acquired from a great author, namely Francine Rivers, who wrote the best non-cliche series of books, ever: The Mark of the Lion Series.

So far I've got this as the first paragraph for chapter 1:

The young man came early January in a biting, wintry day, over the down, walking from the Azienda rail station holding a brown suit case in his thickly gloved hand. He caught himself a black cab and paid the driver rather generously to avoid having to speak of his current business in town. The cab drove through the narrow streets of Via Castagneta, carefully dodging the poor souls who walked its streets. It slowly arrived to its destination, halting in front of a huge two-storey French-styled villa in the outskirts of Castagneta. Its salmon-pink facade which once stood ochre against the green backdrop of trees and brown-orange foliage in autumn was now covered in thick snow, white and unnoticeable against its snow-blanketed surroundings.

Pretty basic and unedited but I wanted to know if anyone has got any thoughts so far. I know I shouldn't even be starting with writing yet, but I just had to get my thoughts down. It's hard when you lose something and you could never think of it again. It's frustrating you know, a real downer
But that's all I could really write/share. I don't even know if it'll make the final cut of the story but just in case, I'll keep it there. For safety reasons. Security is a must when writing. A writer knows that. Either it's for school or leisure.

But for now, I must continue with my research. So far I've got names, clothing, locations, surroundings, context and histories to which I shall share in my next post. For the moment however, it's time to think up some good personalities.

au revoir for now
-Cass

Movie Review: Pirates of the Carribean 4 'On Stranger Tides'

Storyline: Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love -- or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

Captain Jack is back... in an all new adventure! This time he's accompanied with the menacing Blackbeard, the beautiful ex-gal Angelica, the mermaids, the zombie pirates and the infamous Captain Barbossa.

Firstly, allow me to say that I absolutely loved this movie. Sure I definitely missed the ol' pirate crew of the previous three films including Will and Elizabeth, but the fresh start to this movie, the new plot, the new settings and the new characters definitely lived up to the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' expectation.

Wait! Before you proceed, you are now reading the warning that this review contains spoilers.

The movie started off in a very fast-paced motion with the humorous and witty of wittiest Jack Sparrow saving the life of his first mate Mr. Gibbs, which I found out his real name to be Joshamee (in preparation for your future son), with a nice English beard and wig, the only white and curly, before setting up to escape in what he thought was going to bring both of them out of the Crown's way, but only to be fooled by a fool's gold. Of course.
Next thing you know, Jack Sparrow is fighting another Jack Sparrow and is off to another big adventure... this time, on a conquest to find the Fountain of Youth.

Acting-wise:
Perfect! Absolutely perfect! You can't get a better Jack Sparrow than Johnny himself, Penelope did quite brilliantly opposite Mr. Depp. Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, may I say was a real stand-out. I think this man just gets better and better in the 'Pirates' franchise; very witty and humorous. Ian McShane did a swell menace as the infamous Blackbeard but what I loved the most was the sheer intensity and dedication of the two newbies of the franchise, Sam Claflin and Astrid Berges-Frisbey.

25 year old Claflin played the stalwart missionary, Philip Swift while same-aged Berges-Frisbey played the beautiful mermaid, Syrena, who later on captured the heart of the young cleric. The duo did so well, I wanted to cry. They were very much in character and had a special chemistry that not only brought their characters alive, but also allowed their story to be a favourite with the many viewers making us want more of them.
I believe, wholeheartedly that they had more chemistry than Will and Elizabeth... and that's saying something! Brilliant lad and laddie.

Even though the film was shorter than the previous Pirate films, I still enjoyed the Spanish swashbuckling, the Barbossa humour and of course, the newly introduced mermaids in the time frame of 136/7 mins. As a BIG fan of the franchise, I can happily say that this movie is a two-thumbs up movie for the fans, the non-fans, the about-to-be's and the action/adventure type of movie-watchers.

It's definitely a film not to miss.

What to do, What to do

A little contemplating, a little pondering and finally I have come up with goals for this Christmas Holidays that will render me not lazy.

Firstly, of course, I have decided to make sure that I do all of my chores asap, for the happiness of the queen bee *cough* mum *cough* before I progress through the real goals which are:
  1. Learn 2 piano pieces
-That's right, 2. I'm going to go with 2 contemporary songs this hols, 'What makes you beautiful' by One Direction and 'Back to December' by Taylor Swift. Yeah boiiii

  2. Novel research
-I've mentioned this to my dear friend, The Book Blogger (check out her blog, it's full of amazing-ness) and I am very much committed to finishing it. Francine Rivers, the author of a favourite book of mine said that it took her 6 months of research before starting her novel and I'm only up to day 2 with mine, so please, bear with moi.
That's it! Those two will be the goals for these holidays, oh, and eating healthy as well. :)

Happy Holidays everyone!

While talking to my friend V, today about how I love a sweet-romance when it comes to a story, I stumbled upon this particular one and I absolutely loved it!
Defiance: The Anthology
Have a good read of it. It's short but sweet, like shortcrust pastry or a small chocolate bar. I shall give my movie review of Defiance very soon, but here's a little sneak peak:

Defiance: A Movie Review
Defiance is an absolutely amazing movie. Set during World War II in the Belarussian forests, Jewish brothers, Tuvia, Zus, Asael and Aron set off to avenge the deaths of their beloved family and friends; by staying alive.

Joining forces with the Russian partisan (resistance fighters) they endeavoured to build a village in the intimate location of the forests in order to protect themselves and more than 1000 Jewish non-combatants. The four brothers found the impossible task of scrounging for food and weapons while being hunted down by the Germans.

This movie is a highly recommended movie and a truly moving film with amazing performances from Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber and young stars Jamie Bell and Mia Wasikowska.
